Weekly Update 26 Jan – 1 Feb 17

Here are the updates for this week:

Friday:
6:00 – 7:00 PM – Drill team practice
7:00 – 9:30 PM – Band practice – Bring any empty grocery bags you may have

Saturday:
8:30 AM – 4:30 PM – Band Practice Day at Bayside Middle School. All band cadets must attend. Dress is civilian clothing. Please bring a lunch and bottle of water. Bring your instruments and music.

Sunday:
6:00 – 9:00 PM – Biathlon, Marksmanship, Model building, RC Flying, and Flight simulation (armoury).

Wednesday:
6:20 – 9:10 PM – Regular Training (Dress is t-shirt and tunic with parka). Note that the sports night will be the following week.

Fund Raising:
– Cadets were given Air Cadet League tickets to sell. All cadets are expected to sell at least one book. Books have 12 tickets. Tickets sell for $2 or 3 for $5. Cadets should return at least $20 for each book depending on how the tickets were sold. Cadets must return any unsold tickets to the squadron by 1 Mar 17.

– Cadets were given order forms for tickets to a roast beef dinner. The dinner will take place at Mixer’s Sports Bar on February 18. Tickets are $20. Cadets are to bring in their order forms and money and we will be sending the tickets home with the cadets and will also keep a record of those who purchased tickets. The order form is attached Roast Beef Dinner Order Form.

– The senior cadets will be holding a bottle drive on 25 Feb 17. Save up your refundables. If anyone has a truck as is willing to help the seniors with picking up bottles, let us know.

Reminder: If a cadet cannot make it to a Wednesday night/regular event, the cadet should leave a message on the squadron answering machine 632-3215. Please do not e-mail Capt Phinney or post on facebook. This will ensure the admin o gets the message and can mark the cadet as excused.

Good afternoon,

Here are the updates for this week:

Friday:
6:00 – 7:00 PM – Drill team practice
7:00 – 9:30 PM – Band practice

Saturday:
21 Jan 17 – Gabriel Comeau Memorial Sports Competition in Gagetown – All cadets are to meet at the armoury at 7:00 AM. Bus is expected to return at 6:30 PM. Lunch and supper will be provided. Dress for the day is sports gear. Cadets should have a winter jacket with them. Bring a water bottle.
Cadets attending will be FCpl Abujayyab, AC Eldridge, Cpl Finnigan, Sgt MacIntyre, AC Robicheau, Cpl Noel, and Sgt Wallace

Sunday:
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Level 4 and above will be meeting to go through the parade sequence. Dress is civilian clothing. Pizza will be provided for those staying for evening training.
6:00 – 9:00 PM – Biathlon, Marksmanship, Model building, RC Flying, and Flight simulation (armoury).

Wednesday:
6:20 – 9:10 PM – CO’s Parade – Dress is shirt, tie, and tunic. ALL CADETS MUST BE WEARING THEIR PARKAS or a winter jacket if they do not have a parka.

8:00 AM – Flying Scholarship Exam – meet at the armoury in uniform (shirt, tie, and tunic). Cadets will be returning home around 1:00 PM.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their holiday break. We are beginning to start up with a couple of activities happening this Friday. Next week we will resume our regular training.

Friday:
1:00 – 4:30 PM – Band practice at the armoury – don’t forget your music. If you are staying for the hockey game, you can bring your supper or bring money and eat later at the hockey game. We will be walking from the armoury to Harbour Station.

6:00 PM – Sea Dogs Hockey Game – We will be meeting at the front door of Harbour Station between 6:00 and 6:15 PM to distribute the tickets. Dress is civilian clothing. The following list of cadets/staff/friends have signed up. Please let us know ASAP if you are no longer available to go so we can find someone else to take your place. Thanks again to Mrs. Doiron and Irving Oil for providing the tickets!
