The 161 band is a marching percussion ensemble available as an optional training activity to any interested cadets. The Cadets perform music to support their local training program and their community by playing at various parades and events. Along with learning to play their instruments and music theory, band members learn proper marching drills and compete in friendly competitions with other Cadet bands. 161 placed first in the NB/PEI Provincial Band Competition for 2016. The local Squadron provides the instruments, music and supplies to Air Cadets at no cost. Cadets also have the opportunity to attend summer training courses to further develop their musicianship.
The 161 band trains on Friday evenings from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM at the Barrack Green Armoury.
