Cadet Biathlon Program
Biathlon is a sport that combines 2 activities such as Skiing & Shooting or Running & Shooting. In NB/PE the Biathlon Competitions are held at 2 levels. Zone Competition (April 2026) where units from our Zone (Sussex to St. Stephen) compete to move onto Provincials(June 2026). In NB/PE we compete with a Run & Shoot.
The cadet biathlon program gives all cadets the chance to participate in a progressive activity that builds fitness, supports marksmanship training, promotes safe rifle handling, develops qualified coaches and officials, and encourages continued involvement in the Canadian Cadet Organizations.
The program includes two parts:
- Recreational: Basic fitness combined with introductory air rifle marksmanship at the local corps or squadron level.
- Competitive: Progressive individual and team competitions at the local, zone, provincial, and national levels.
