Mess Dinner 5-Dec-2025 – 527 Simonds Air Cadet Squadron has invited 161 to participate in a formal mess dinner to help celebrate 527’s 75th Anniversary.

Sign up for the Mess Dinner is now CLOSED! Only the Cadets listed below will be attending. We look forward to seeing all cadets who have signed up. Please keep in mind that the meal is free to the cadets but does cost our unit $25 per plate, and we are responsible for the full amount for all 44 cadets, whether or not cadets attend. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

When: Friday 5-Dec-2025

Location: 58 Branch Legion, 8 River Road, Rothesay, NB

Drop Off Time: 1830hrs

Pick Up Time: 2030hrs

Dress: Blue Uniform with White Dress Shirt & Bow Tie – NO WEDGE – Bow Ties will be provided to cadets by 161 on Wednesday 3-Dec-2025 – Cadets are responsible for finding a White Dress Shirt – If you can not borrow or purchase a White Dress Shirt please let Capt Landry know by next Wednesday 3-Dec-2025

Christmas Parade – ALL CADETS

When: Saturday 29-Nov-2025

Drop Off Location: Guardian Drugs Parking Lot – Look for Capt Cameron & CV Johnston – 114 River Valley Drive, Grand Bay-Westfield

River Valley Drive will be closed to traffic at 1745hrs

Drop Off Time: 1730hrs

Dress: Blue Uniform with Dress Shirt & Tie – dress in layers & bring gloves if cold – SANTA HATS ENCOURAGED – we will have a few Santa Hats for Cadets to borrow but you are welcome to wear your own

LEAVE PERSONAL ITEMS & WATER BOTTLES IN YOUR PARENT/GUARDIANS VEHICLE

Pick Up Location: River Valley Community Centre 749 River Valley Drive, Grand Bay-Westfield After you drop off your cadet we encourage you to grab a warm beverage, drive to RVCC and find a parking spot and watch the parade. Cadets will meet their parents in front of the Basketball Court/Skate Park.

This is a 2.5kms Parade. Parade steps off at 1800hrs – I would expect the cadets at RVCC by 1830-1845hrs

BAND MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORTING THEIR INSTRUMENT TO AND FROM THE PARADE – Please contact Capt Hutchinson if you have any questions – julia.hutchinson@cadets.gc.ca

Registration for the Fundamental Day on 6-Dec-2025 has closed. We can no longer sign cadets up.

March in Santa

Our band will be Marching in Santa Claus at McAllister Place

When: Friday 21-Nov-2025

Where: McAllister Place – Meet at Entrance 6 Next to Marshalls & Homesense -Mr Johnston & Capt Cameron will be there.

Cadets arrive: 1730-1745hrs

Dress: Blue Uniforms – dress shirt & tie – we are inside no need for layers -Cadets are to leave all personal items and drum cases in vehicle

Parade Step off: 1800hrs

The Band will get a Group Picture with Santa after the Parade

Band Members can leave once the group picture with Santa is taken or stay and enjoy what

Cadets are responsible for their instruments and will need to transport their intrument to and from McAllister Place. If you can not transport your instrument please let Capt Hutchinson know by Wednesday night.

Because of the Parade at McAllister Place there will be no band practice after the parade Friday Night.

SATURDAY 15-Nov-2025 – Saint John Santa Clause Parade ALL CADETS

This year 161 cadets will be participating as a unit in the Saint John Santa Claus parade that will be held on 15-Nov-2025. Let’s show everyone who the best cadet unit in Saint John is!

Drop Off: Barrack Green Armoury – WE WILL WALK DOWN TO THE PARADE ROUTE AS A GROUP

Drop Off Time: 1700hrs ALL CADETS (1630hrs Band Members)

Dress: Blue Uniforms – wear gloves & layers under your blue uniform to stay warm – check the temperature & weather before hand and dress accordingly. SANTA HATS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED

Pick up: Lansdowne Plaza by Subway

Pick up Time: between 1930-2000hrs (when we arrive)
