Wednesday 9-Sep-2026 – OPEN HOUSE!!

NEW CADETS: Open House is from 7pm-8:30pm – please join us starting at 7pm

Level 4 & 5 Cadets: Time: 1830-2100hrs

-Dress: FTUS

Returning Level 1, 2 & 3 Cadets

-Supply is open from 1830-2030hrs 

-If parts of your uniform do not fit, please come during these hours with the uniform parts that don’t fit!

161 is a home, a family. Where everyone has the same opportunities no matter their background or financial situation. 161 Air Cadets is a FREE TEEN PROGRAM that is partially funded by DND & CAF, but we heavily rely on fundraising support from our Squadron Sponsoring Committee. We provide everything your child needs to succeed. We do ask that Parents/Guardians help out with fundraising when out Squadron Support Committee askes.

-Water & Food Collection

-Survival Psychology
-How to Tie Knots

Leadership

161 prides itself on the leadership skills our cadets develop. We believe in the Cadets leading Cadets motto. Through each level cadets will learn leadership skills for their age, and eventually will be tasked with Planning & Running activities, Teaching Classes, and Learning how to be good Mentors to their peers & younger cadets.

-Each Year 161 hosts a Senior Cadet Leadership Weekend for cadet units in our area to come and learn how to be good leaders
-Senior Cadets attend classes and participate in real life like scenarios they may come across in real world.
-This give the Senior cadets to meet others and network, and start planning future multi-unit activities
-Throughout the year cadets are tasked with planning and running activities – these activities are always supervised with an officer and volunteer staff members.

Biathlon & Marksmanship

161 offers Recreational Marksmanship and Competitive Marksmanship & Biathlon Teams. Cadets use a Daisy / Avanti 853C Target Air Rifle. Cadets are supervised at all times by a qualified Range Safety Officer (RSO)

✨ CHASE THE ACE – DRAW #23 RECAP ✨

Friday night at Branch 69 was buzzing as we rolled into the twenty‑third Chase the Ace draw on 07 August 2026 at 7:30 pm. The jackpot was sitting pretty at $35,385.00, with 30 cards left in the deck — getting real exciting now.

A big, sparkling congratulations to MEGHAN (MEG’S) NASON — our lucky winner of the evening! The Ace stayed hidden (we turned the 6 of Clubs), but Meghan still walked away with a sweet $1,269.00 consolation prize. Not a bad Friday night treat.

Branch #69 Legion is a Huge Supporter of 161 Air Cadets and the Legion needs some volunteers to help out with Dragons on the Lake

On Friday, 07 August 26, the twenty-third “Chase the Ace” draw took place at Branch 69, at 7:30 pm. The evenings Jackpot stood at $35,385.00 with 30 cards remaining in the deck.
