SUPPLY – Capt. Hutchinson is working hard to get all our new cadets measured for their uniforms – Uniforms are ordered as soon as all registration forms are completed. Please be patient – it can take a month or more for uniforms to arrive.

Where: Elmhurts Outdoors- 65 Ganong Rd, Erbs Cove, NB

Drop Off Time: 0830hrs – Saturday
Pick Up Time: 1500hrs – Sunday

Dress: FTU’s (Green Uniform – with Tilly or Toque) – If you do not have an FTU please wear appropriate clothing for the woods. Please see the kit list below – check the weather before packing – make sure you have enough warm clothes

Transportation NOT provided

Meals & Tents Provided – Some Sleeping Bags Available

GLIDING – SATURDAY – 26-SEP-2026 – Miramichi Airport

**We have 9 seats available for Gliding this Saturday** Open to Level 2, 3, 3 & 5 cadets at first come first served** please email julia.hutchinson@cadets.gc.ca to sign up – Only cadets who have signed up will be allowed on the bus

Drop Off: Barrack Green Armoury – 0630hrs – THE BUS LEAVES AT 0700hrs – THE BUS WILL NOT WAIT FOR YOU
Pack a Lunch, Snacks and lots to drink! – SUPPER IS PROVIDED
-Pack lots of snacks & drinks for the day – there is NO STORE to purchase from once you are at the Air Field
-BRING WATER
-Bring a Folding Chair; cadets will be waiting in a hanger
-Dress appropriately (Civilian Clothes) – Bring a Hoodie/Sweater & Jacket – the airfield can be windy and cold – No Slides, Sandles or Flip Flops
-Bring something to do – board games, homework, sports balls…
-There is no where to plug your electronics in – any Electronics are the responsibility of the cadet – 161 is NOT RESPONSIBLE for any items lost, stolen or broken

– Level 4 & 5 Cadets are running an Open House for NEW Cadets

-Level 1, 2 & 3 – No Regular Training – BUT! Supply is open from 1900-2030hrs if you need to be measured or exchange uniform parts – please bring the uniform parts that no longer fit with you!

161 is a home, a family. Where everyone has the same opportunities no matter their background or financial situation. 161 Air Cadets is a FREE TEEN PROGRAM that is partially funded by DND & CAF, but we heavily rely on fundraising support from our Squadron Sponsoring Committee. We provide everything your child needs to succeed. We do ask that Parents/Guardians help out with fundraising when out Squadron Support Committee askes.

Leadership

161 prides itself on the leadership skills our cadets develop. We believe in the Cadets leading Cadets motto. Through each level cadets will learn leadership skills for their age, and eventually will be tasked with Planning & Running activities, Teaching Classes, and Learning how to be good Mentors to their peers & younger cadets.

-Each Year 161 hosts a Senior Cadet Leadership Weekend for cadet units in our area to come and learn how to be good leaders
-Senior Cadets attend classes and participate in real life like scenarios they may come across in real world.
-This give the Senior cadets to meet others and network, and start planning future multi-unit activities
-Throughout the year cadets are tasked with planning and running activities – these activities are always supervised with an officer and volunteer staff members.

Biathlon & Marksmanship

161 offers Recreational Marksmanship and Competitive Marksmanship & Biathlon Teams. Cadets use a Daisy / Avanti 853C Target Air Rifle. Cadets are supervised at all times by a qualified Range Safety Officer (RSO)
