During the poppy shift cadets will ask the public if they would like to buy a poppy or one of the poppy campaign pins/stickers/wrist band. Cadets will be in uniform or if they do not have a uniform dressed business casual. Each shift will require at least 1 parent to stay & supervise. The Poppy Tray will be passed onto the next cadet shift or will be picked up by a sponsoring committee member.

Fundraisers like the Poppy Campaign helps us do more with your cadets with no cost to you.

Just be advised that due to a change in policy at the Barrack Green Armouries, you may find that the gate is locked when you arrive. Please wait with your Child(ren) until someone arrives to open the gate.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! As you know 161 Air Cadets is a FREE teen program. To help with training costs we need the parents & cadets to volunteer with fundraising. We have a number of Poppy shifts available. The schedule is posted below – white spaces are available shifts. Please contact Aimee Perry to sign your cadet up. Do NOT come up the hill to the campsite. All cadets will be at the end of the driveway waiting to be picked up.

CADETS IS FREE! But we do need help with fundraising to keep all our activities free to cadets. Each year 161 participates in the Poppy Campaign and a donation is made to our unit from the funds raised.

This weekend we will conduct an FTX with 527 Air Cadets at Elmhurst Outdoors – Main Location is 65 Ganong  Rd, Erbs Cove, NB — the FTX Site is approx 1km from main location. Meals & Tents will be provided. Sleeping Bags are available to anyone who needs one. Please make sure cadets have an extra blanket for inside their sleeping bag.
