Here are the updates for the week:
Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, Followed by Band from 1900 to 2130
Ground School Weekend – This is for the cadets who applied for the Glider and Power scholarships. You depart from Jungle Jim’s on Fairville Blvd on the west side at 1800. Dress for the drive up is civies, but you must take your uniform for Saturday and Sunday classes. Civies for after classes and the evenings, along with shower and other personal hygiene items should also be backed. You will be returning on Sunday around 1600. Note: Your driver and escort officer for the weekend is Capt. Kalbhenn.

Sunday: 1691 Sports Competition from 0900-1600 at the Armouries. Anyone who signed up or is interested in participating is welcome to attend. Cadets must provide their own lunch and should bring their own water bottles. The unit will have some snacks and water available through out the day.
Marksmanship/Flight Sim/Model Building/Biathlon 1800-2100. Anyone wishing to bring in their own drone is welcome to do so, at your own risk.

Monday: Ground school at Simonds High 1830-2030

Wednesday: Regular Training, dress is Tunic and t-shirt. It is cold out, wear a coat.
Parents Committee is meeting from 2000-2100, new parents are welcome to attend.

Annual Validation and Detailed Medical Forms – This is the last warning for this, the deadline for outstanding forms is Friday November 30th. A list of cadets with outstanding forms has been posted on Facebook.

Any cadet wishing to apply for the Lord Strathcona Medal or Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence is encouraged to download the application and return it completed to the office, the forms and more information are available here.

Upcoming events:

– 17 Dec 18 – Mess Dinner with 1691 RCACC, 1830-2100 at the Armouries.
– 19 Dec 18 – Unit Holiday Party

Note for the mess dinner, dress is full uniform but with a white dress shirt and black bow tie. If you require a bow tie, we can pick one up for you, the cost with tax is $12. Please let Lt. Cameron know if you need one no later than Wednesday December 12th.

Band Music Seminar

If You are going to the band seminar this Friday there is a permission  slip attached that has the details of what you should bring as well. please print it out and bring it with you Capt D Phinney will have some spare ones at the bus if you cant fill it out.

Gagetown Music Seminar

What: Learn music (playing, theory, drill, etc) with other cadets from across NB

When: 6:30 PM Friday 26 Oct 18 to approximately 4:00 PM Sunday 28 Oct 18 (cadets will call on the way home)

Where: Meet at the Armouries and a bus will transport cadets to Gagetown and back

What to bring:

 

  • WEAR YOUR UNIFORM (t-shirt & tunic)
  • Cadet Parka
  • Civilian clothing including footwear- we will be wearing civis on Sunday
  • Toothbrush/ paste
  • 4 pairs of socks
  • PJs
  • Undergarments
  • Deodorant
  • Face cloths
  • Towel
  • Soap/shampoo
  • Shower sandals
  • Female personal hygiene items
  • Instrument and music folder
  • Water bottle

 

ELECTRONICS (phones, ipods, etc) will be the responsibility of the cadet!

All meals will be provided. Sleeping bags will be provided. If you have any questions or need to get a hold of your cadet during the weekend, contact Capt D. Phinney.

Here are the updates for the week:
Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, followed by Band from 1900 to 2130 at the armoury

Sunday: Biathlon, Marksmanship, and Flight Simulation – 1800 to 2100 at the armoury (Note that RC Flying and Model Building will be starting soon)

Monday: Ground school from 1830 to 2030 at Simonds High School

Wednesday: Halloween Party with 527 RCACS. Meet at Simonds High School from 1830 – 2100 hrs. Go in to pool entrance (next to the football field). Dress is costume (no full face masks).

Annual Validation and Detailed Medical Forms – All returning cadets must bring back these forms ASAP.

Upcoming events:

– 26-28 Oct 18 – Gagetown Band Seminar. Cadets will be meeting at the armoury on Friday evening at 1830 hrs. The bus will be departing at 1900 hrs. Dress for the event will be uniform (t-shirt and tunic with parka). Cadets need to bring the following:

  • Pyjamas
  • Toiletries/personal hygeine items
  • Towel/facecloth
  • Shower sandals
  • Instrument
  • Music folder/pencil
  • Water bottle
  • Civilian clothing for Saturday evening/Sunday (including shoes)
  • Cadet parka

Cadets will be staying the the barracks at Argonaut CTC. All meals will be provided. Cadets will be returning home on Sunday around 1600 hrs.

– Poppy Campaign (various dates) – please sign up for a shift

– 10 Nov 18 – Level training weekend, this is for Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 cadets. More information will be going out soon
– 11 Nov 18 – Remembrance Day, we will be attending the service in Grand Bay-Westfield.
