Here are the updates for the week:

Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, Followed by Band from 1900 to 2130.

F/Cpl Comeau Sport Competition: Cadets attending the competition will be departing from the Armouries at 1900. Be sure to arrive by 1845. Those attending have been contacted and advised what to bring and when they will be returning on Saturday.

Sunday: Marksmanship/Biathlon/Flight Sim/Model Building 1800 – 2100

Wednesday: Regular Training, dress is uniform with t-shirt.
Remember that it is winter and all cadets must wear a coat.

Any cadet wishing to apply for the Lord Strathcona Medal or Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence is encouraged to download the application and return it completed to the office, the forms and more information are available here. The deadline to have your applications into the squadron is January 30th. NOTE: Updated nomination forms have been posted, our existing forms were out of date.

Here are the updates for the week:
Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, Followed by Band from 1900 to 2130.
Biathlon team members should come in for 1900 to be sized for boots, skis and poles.

Saturday: Biathlon skiing at Elmhurst Outdoors from 1000 – 1400. Only show up if you have been sized for boots, skis and poles. It is expected to be a cold day, dress for the weather and bring a lunch/snack.

Sunday: Marksmanship/Flight Sim/Model Building/Biathlon 1800-2100.
NOTE: Due to the potential weather this Sunday, we will post by 1300 if we cancel.

Monday: Dinner and Sports with 1691. Dress is casual/civies.
This is to replace our cancelled Mess Dinner, and will take place at the Armouries at 1830 hrs.

Wednesday: CO’s Parade, dress is full uniform with shirt and tie. Remember that it is winter and all cadets must wear a coat.

Saturday: GPS/PPS Exam in Gagetown. Cadets writing the exam will leave from the Armouries at 0830 and return between 1200 and 1300 hrs. Cadets are to wear their uniforms with shirt and tie.

Sunday: Marksmanship/Flight Sim/Model Building/Biathlon 1800-2100. Anyone wishing to bring in their own drone is welcome to do so, at your own risk.

Holiday Update Dec 20 2018-Jan 9th 2-19

Here are the updates for the weeks:
No planned training until we return on Wednesday January 9th 2019. That night will be regular training in uniform. We are looking into going bowling over the holidays, if we are able to do so, a post will be made on the website and Facebook.

Here are the updates for the week:
Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, Followed by Band from 1900 to 2130

Sunday: Marksmanship/Flight Sim/Model Building/Biathlon 1800-2100. Anyone wishing to bring in their own drone is welcome to do so, at your own risk.
Merit Review Board at 1830, those who need to attend should already know.

Monday: Mess Dinner hosted by 1691 RCACC at the Armouries. We have 39 names on the sign up sheet, hopefully everyone shows up. 
Dress is full uniform but with a white dress shirt and black bow tie and no wedge. If you require a bow tie, we can pick one up for you, the cost with tax is $12. We are picking up 20 bow ties and will have them available for those who requested one. You can get them on Friday the 14th, Sunday the 16th or Monday the 17th at the dinner.

Wednesday: 161 Holiday Party. Dress is civilian clothing, but you are encourage to wear ugly Christmas sweaters, socks, pants and hats… They don’t have to be ugly, but there might be a contest.

Monday: Ground school at Simonds High 1830-2030

Wednesday: Regular Training, dress is Tunic and t-shirt. It is cold out, wear a coat.

Annual Validation and Detailed Medical Forms – There are still a few outstanding forms, those cadets have been informed.

Any cadet wishing to apply for the Lord Strathcona Medal or Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence is encouraged to download the application and return it completed to the office, the forms and more information are available here.

– 17 Dec 18 – Mess Dinner with 1691 RCACC, 1830-2100 at the Armouries.

Note for the mess dinner, dress is full uniform but with a white dress shirt and black bow tie. If you require a bow tie, we can pick one up for you, the cost with tax is $12. Please let Lt. Cameron know if you need one no later than Wednesday December 12th. You may pay for your bow ties on the 12th, 14th, 16th or 17th.

Saturday: Biathlon Zone Competition 0800-1600. This takes place at École Samuel-de-Champlain. Dress to be outside most of the day.

Sunday: Marksmanship/Flight Sim/Model Building 1800-2100. Anyone wishing to bring in their own drone is welcome to do so, at your own risk.

Monday: Ground school at Simonds High 1830-2030

Wednesday: Sports Night. Wear sports gear and be prepared for the beep test. It is cold out, wear a coat.

Annual Validation and Detailed Medical Forms – All returning cadets must bring back these forms ASAP. If you are not sure if you have returned your forms, see Lt. Hutchinson. A list of cadets with outstanding forms has been posted on Facebook.

Saturday: Band practice 1200 – 1500 at the Armouries. This will make up for the lack of a practice on Friday and allow extra practice for the parade.

Santa Clause Parade: The staging area has been moved to Crown St, so we will be meeting at the parking lot of Shopper Drug Mart instead of the Telegraph Journal. We are also changing the arrival time to 5pm. NOTE: The intersection of Crown St and Union St will likely already be blocked off, so you will have to come off Rothesay Ave/City Rd.
Remember to dress warm and bring a Santa Hat. Cadets may wear civilian coats over their uniform if they do not have a parka.

 

Sunday: Biathlon team will now be having practice on Sunday evening from 1800-2100, along with Marksmanship and Flight Sim.

Saint John Santa Clause Parade 1630-2030. Cadets should be dropped off at the Telegraph Journal parking lot. You should wear a Santa hat instead of your wedge. Cadets can be picked up at the parking lot at the Sobeys in the north end.

Sunday: Marksmanship/Flight Sim 1800-2100. Anyone wishing to bring in their own drone is welcome to do so, at your own risk.

Santa Arrives at McAllister Mall: Band members should be at the mall at 1330 to march Santa around the mall.

Monday: Ground school at Simonds High 1830-2030

Wednesday: CO’s Parade followed by Regular Training. Dress is shirt and tie, and you must bring a coat, civilian coats are acceptable.

Weekly Update Nov 8-14 18 – Level and Remembrance Day

Here are the updates for the week:
Friday: Drill Team 1800 – 1900, Followed by Band from 1900 to 2130

Saturday: Level Training Day. This is mandatory training for all level 1 through 4 cadets.
– Runs from 0900 until 1600
– Dress is civilian clothing
– Cadets need to bring a lunch, one will not be supplied
– Cadets should bring their uniforms, as we will be doing uniform care.

Biathlon Practice from 1600-1900, this is the last Biathlon practice before the zone competition. Supper will be provided for cadets who attended the Level Training Day.

Sunday: Remembrance Day Ceremony. Mandatory for ALL cadets. Cadets are to meet at River Valley Middle School in Grand Bay (Epworth Park Drive – behind the rink) at 10:00 AM. Dress for the day is shirt, tie, and tunic. Cadets who do not have a uniform yet should wear a collared shirt/dressy clothes if possible. The parade should finish around noon. Parents/guardians are welcome to attend the parade.

Harbour Station Remembrance Day Ceremony: There are 5 cadets who will be attending the ceremony at Harbour Station. These cadets are too meet at Harbour Station at 9:30 AM at the east end of the rink on the arena floor. Capt MacDonald will be the point of contact for this ceremony.

No Marksmanship, Biathlon, or Flight Simulation.

Monday: No Ground school

Wednesday: Regular Training. Dress is t-shirt with tunic, and you must bring a coat, civilian coats are acceptable.
